Welcome to Open Source Radio
Open Source Radio (OSR) is a collection of articles, information, and documents related to the construction and operation of broadcast stations based on Open Source software. This site is sponsored by Broadcast Tool & Die.
Here (and the associated GitHub site) you will find ‘recipes’ that help you build Open Source-based systems to run your broadcast station. OSR contains more than just open source software, it includes management documents, handbooks, policies and procedures, how-to’s, product reviews, and biographical information for stations and individuals. Use the links to the left to explore the site.
Open Source Radio is also home for community supported solutions for the technical needs of radio stations. From example studio setups to custom computer operating system installs. OSR has information to help you to get on the air as quickly and efficiently as possible, and and to participate in a support community of users of similar tools and products.
Please visit the Open Source Radio GitHub repositories for documentation and software.
Also check out radiospark.org created by the Prometheus Project. The resources there have a heavy emphasis on Low Power FM.
